Radiotherapy Physicists, Dosimetrists and Engineers (13 posts, NHS Bands 6 to 8C) Altnagelvin Hospital, Derry/Londonderry, Northern Ireland

This is an outstanding opportunity to help shape innovative and cutting edge radiotherapy services through commissioning the most advanced radiotherapy equipment and clinical techniques and forging relationships with clinical and commercial partners across  the UK, Ireland, Europe and the USA.

The new state of the art service, due to open in Autumn 2016, will be equipped with 3 Varian TrueBeam Slim linear accelerators, a 64 slice Siemens SOMATOM Definition AS Open CT scanner and there will be direct access to MRI. Superficial treatments will  be performed by an XStrahl 150 unit and the mould room will be equipped with 3D printing technology.

Academic and development opportunities exist with C-TRIC, the on-site translational research unit, Ulster University and University of Liverpool. There are also close collaborative links with the Northern Ireland Cancer Centre in Belfast. All members of  staff will benefit from a personally tailored development programme, underpinned by a dedicated training fund. Outstanding clinical scientist candidates will have the opportunity of sponsorship through the Higher Specialist Scientific Training (HSST) programme.

Altnagelvin Hospital is only minutes from the city of Londonderry. There is access to high quality and affordable housing with many outstanding schools and educational institutions nearby. Derry is one of the most frequently visited cities in the UK with  easy transport links to Belfast, Donegal, GB and mainland Europe.

It is anticipated that interviews will be held during the weeks commencing 16th November.

In the event of receiving a large number of suitable applicants a waiting list may be established.
Applications are welcome from trainees nearing qualification.
Some posts are eligible for a relocation package.
